The Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat is gearing up to host the 27th edition of the Lalla Meryem Cup, set to feature some of the world’s top female golfers. Organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the tournament will see a gathering of renowned athletes alongside emerging talents from Morocco.
Representing Morocco on the International stage are seasoned professionals Ines Laklalech and Maha Haddioui. Laklalech, fresh off her victory at the 2022 Lacoste Ladies Open in France, brings her expertise and competitive spirit to the tournament, while Haddioui, a two-time Olympian, adds her wealth of experience to the Moroccan contingent.
Joining them are promising talents Lina Belmati and Malak Bouraeda, eager to make their mark and showcase their skills on home soil. Sofia Cherif Essakali, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation Elite player, rounds out the Moroccan lineup, poised to build on her impressive performance from last year.
The international field features standout players such as Trichat Cheenglab from Thailand and India’s Diksha Dagar, both ranked among the top three in the 2023 LET Ranking. Nuria Iturrioz of Spain, a two-time champion of the event, adds further excitement and competition to the mix.
Established in 1993, the Lalla Meryem Cup has become a prominent event on the Ladies European Tour (LET) professional circuit. This year, the competition continues its tradition of inclusivity and excellence, welcoming a diverse field of 108 players from Europe and beyond.
The 27th edition of the Lalla Meryem Cup is scheduled to take place from February 19th to February 24th, 2024, at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat. Notably, this prestigious women’s golf tournament will run concurrently with the Hassan II Golf Trophy, enhancing the excitement and spectacle of both events.
