RS Berkane Finally Departs Airport After CAF Intervention

After an intervention by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and over ten hours of suffering at the airport in Algiers, Renaissance Sportive de Berkane has finally exit the airport to their hotel.

According to Sports Media Hesport, the RS Berkane delegation complied with the request from the CAF to leave the airport, with a promise to recieve their complete and intact sports equipmen, ahead of their last training session.

Officials from RS Berkane informed CAF that they would not play their match if they did not receive their jerseys, asserting that they had been approved by the African body.

The Berkane team fell victim to mistreatment by Algerian security, who attempted to expel some players from the airport, in a scene far from the spirit of sportsmanship, the way Algerian security handled the situation has sparked outrage among members of the Moroccan mission, after spending over ten hours at the airport in completely inappropriate conditions.

The players of the Moroccan club faced unjustified harassment upon arrival at El Houari Boumediene Airport from the plane that brought them from Oujda Angad Airport, on a direct flight that lasted about an hour.
