Raja Club Athletic emerged victorious against AS FAR in the Throne Cup final on Monday, at Agadir Grand Stadium. This intense match, featuring the top two teams from the Botola, saw Raja clinch a 2-1 win, securing both the league and cup titles for the season.
Algerian forward Yousri Bouzok made a quick start and opened the scoring just 4 minutes into the game. AS FAR quickly regrouped and took control, creating multiple opportunities to score. Their efforts were rewarded when Amine Zouhzouh equalized in the 28th minute.
Raja, demonstrating resilience and determination, found the winning goal in the 79th minute through Mohamed Boulacsout. This decisive strike ensured Raja’s ninth Throne Cup title, elevating them to second place among the most successful clubs in the competition’s history, behind AS FAR, who hold 12 titles.
Raja’s coach, Joseph Zimbauer, highlighted the crucial role of team spirit and staff dedication in their successful season. Speaking to Sportribune during the post-match press conference, Zimbauer said, “The team spirit and commitment of all the staff were behind our victories in the Botola and the Throne Cup, allowing us to end the season with two titles.”
