Morocco’s Offensive Masterclass Secures 6-0 Victory Over Congo Brazzaville

Sportribune

The Moroccan National football team delivered a dominant performance, securing a 6-0 victory against Congo Brazzaville on Tuesday at Adrar Stadium in Agadir, further solidifying Morocco’s lead in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Olympique de Marseille player Azeddine Ounahi opened the scoring in the 8th minute, followed by Chadi Riad who doubled the lead just eight minutes later. Greek club Olympiacos striker Ayoub El Kaabi emerged as the standout player of the game, completing a hat-trick with goals in the 20th, 39th, and 53rd minutes, while forward Soufiane Rahimi closed scoring with a sixth goal in the 62nd minute.

This performance places Morocco in the top of Group E with 9 points. Tanzania follows in second place with 6 points, while Niger and Zambia have 3 points each. Congo Brazzaville and Eritrea are yet to score.

The victory is particularly significant in light of recent criticism directed at coach Walid Regragui following the team’s perceived underwhelming performances post the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Some supporters had voiced concerns over tactical decisions and inconsistent results. However, tonight’s match showcased a resilient Moroccan side that emphatically silenced its critics. Coach Regragui’s adjustments and the players’ stellar performance underscored the team’s strength and the quality of its roster.
