Taifa Stars coach Adel Amrouche has been slapped with an eight-match ban by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The suspension, issued by CAF’s Disciplinary Committee, comes in response to a complaint lodged by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). Amrouche’s controversial remarks, suggesting Morocco’s influence in CAF’s decision-making processes regarding matches and referees, led to the disciplinary action.
The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has swiftly responded by appointing Hemed Morocco as the interim coach, assisted by Juma Mgunda. The abrupt dismissal unfolds just two days before Taifa Stars’ AFCON group F match against Zambia.
