Prince Moulay Rachid

In his Editorial, for 2024 edition, Prince Moulay Rachid, President of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and President of the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association says

“It is with great pleasure that we extend a warm welcome to you for the 48th edition of the Hassan II Trophy and the 27th edition of the Lalla Meryem Cup. In the swiftly evolving global golf landscape, marked by the advent of LIV Golf and the historic collaboration between the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF), the PGA Tour, and the DP World Tour to unite the game of golf on an international scale, we steadfastly uphold a tradition. This tradition, conceived by my late father, His Majesty King Hassan II, was designed to uphold and enhance our nation’s standing as a pivotal destination on the economic, touristic, and golf fronts. Collaborating closely with the Moroccan National Tourism Office amid a complex global context, we endeavor to showcase the unique features and attributes of our country, emphasizing its authentic history, rich cultural heritage, and diverse geography. Once again, the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam will host the legends of the PGA Tour Champions for the Hassan II Trophy, while the Lalla Meryem Cup will attract the finest players from the Ladies European Tour, including, again this year, an exceptional participation from Morocco. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the teams at the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and the Hassan II Trophy Association for their unwavering commitment and hard work behind the scenes to ensure the success of our vision set in 2018, following my election to the Presidency of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation. Since then, we have initiated a number of projects aimed at restructuring and developing human resources, fortifying good governance and fostering the emergence of new champions. This concerted effort has led to a substantial and steady growth in our practitioner base. The number of licensees has almost doubled in 5 years, rising from 6,000 to 10,500 in 2024. Our resolute commitment to the development of this sport is paralleled by our dedication to the preservation of water resources. We collaborate closely with the relevant authorities to uphold the key directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, in safeguarding these invaluable resources. I extend my best wishes to all, hoping that you have a delightful time and savor the presence of champions in the enchanting ambiance of the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam”.
