Crystal Palace has officially signed 20-year-old Moroccan defender Chadi Riad to a five-year contract. The signing follows Riad’s impressive season with Real Betis, where he made 30 appearances while on loan from Barcelona. This move marks the Premier League club’s first acquisition of the summer transfer window.
Riad, who was born in Spain and turns 21 on Monday, expressed his enthusiasm for joining Crystal Palace. “The club has high-level players who are young, and I have come here to follow their same trajectory, to grow as they have grown,” Riad said in the team’s announcement.
The center-back made his international debut with Moroccan National team in January and scored his first international goal in a match against the Republic of Congo.
