17th Moroccan Equestrian Trophy: Celebrating Unsung Heroes and Equestrian Excellence

The upcoming 17th edition of the Moroccan Equestrian Trophy, scheduled for January 6th, is set to pay a remarkable tribute to the often unsung heroes behind the scenes who contribute to the prominence of equestrian sports beyond the tracks, alongside champions and riders who shined in 2023.

Badre Fakir, General Manager of the Royal Moroccan Equestrian Sports Federation (FRMSE) and president of the Trophy, highlighted that this annual event not only applauds the achievements of Moroccan equestrian champions in 2023 but also aims to honor the significant efforts of trainers, coaches, and track directors.

Under the theme “The Gallop of the Stars… Lights on the Track,” this edition will spotlight the dedication and hard work of those instrumental in promoting the Kingdom’s equestrian sports on International, Continental, and Arab levels. the event will be to acknowledge the profound contributions of these individuals who raise the national flag high in the global equestrian arena.

Badre Fakir, emphasized the long-term efforts and strategic initiatives led by Moulay Abdellah Alaoui, President of the Royal Moroccan Equestrian Sports Federation. Moulay Abdellah Alaoui’s tireless endeavors in nurturing and supporting Moroccan champions have played a big role in their accomplishments throughout 2023.

The 17th Moroccan Equestrian Trophy ceremony will also celebrate the achievements of Moroccan talents in various equestrian domains, such as Melissa Charlier, finalist of the FEI Jumping World Challenge Polokwane in South Africa, and Maha Khalid, an endurance rider victorious at the CE12* 160 km “Endurance of Dubai 2023,” and El Mehdi Chouiyeb, a gold medalist at the “Special Olympics World Games 2023” in Berlin, and others who will be among the champions lauded for their remarkable feats.

Moreover, the esteemed panel of judges for this edition, presided over by Driss Jabri alongside Toufik Naciri and actress Samia Akarriou as members, face the challenging task of selecting winners among 47 candidates across ten categories.

Driss Jabri expressed his honor at chairing the jury and highlighted the difficulty of choosing winners, considering the high caliber of participants and the additional criteria beyond technical skill, including perseverance, discipline, and overall progress throughout the year.
